Midnight Sun Studios is offering Clay Workshops. These classes are great for kids or adults who have or have not worked with clay before.

June 26 2pm-4pm – Garden Markers and Ornaments 
Gardens come alive when you label the plants you care for, display a beautiful saying or inspirational word! Create your own unique garden markers for your cherished plants. Besides, who can remember what you planted? Or create an ornament to display around the house or on a Christmas tree!Workshop is 20$ and includes materials and firing

June 28 2pm-4pm – Funky Fun Toothbrush Holders
Have a fun and inspirational place to store your toothbrushes! We will be handbuilding a unique piece that smiles back at you from the counter. Workshop is 20$ and includes materials and firing

July 3 & 5 2pm-4pm – Piggy Banks
This two day workshop covers creating a unique and functional piggy bank using handbuilding techniques and lots of fun. First day consists of construction and second day decorative elements to make it beautiful! Workshop is 35$ and includes materials and firing

Payment by cash, check or credit card is due upon registration. The classes are kept fairly small (4-6) in the interest of giving the students plenty of room to work and more personal instruction. Students can focus on growing as individuals with lots of personal attention from instructor. Various methods of construction will be shown such as pinch pots, coil and slab building. The only limit is your imagination.

We offer classes to beginner and intermediate students who want to explore working with clay. It is suggested that you bring an old towel, and wear old clothing…you will likely get muddy. All work goes through two kiln firings; the second firing will make the pottery safe for food and drink, as well as use in microwave oven and dishwasher. We use only health-approved clays and glaze-materials. The drying and firing process takes time so a piece may not be ready to take home for 2 weeks or more.

Kids under age 8 MUST be accompanied by an adult.
